Let’s feed development ! August 2010
Let’s feed development ! The question of food supply is at the center of the battle against poverty and exclusion. However, in the North like in the South, this is not always a global political priority. In order to make it a priority in terms of development (local and international) we need to consider several adjacent concerns : access to food to put an end to hunger and malnutrition, access to land and installation for rural youth (meaning ensuring decent conditions), the promotion of agricultural biodiversity and the re-development of healthy eating that is accessible to everyone, etc…From the perspective of redefining the Common Agricultural Policy in 2013, this training course will help us approach these agricultural and agrarian, national and local policies, in order to measure their effects. We’ll also take a look at this through other examples of concrete alternatives as well as citizens’ mobilizations set up in the South as in the North.
From the 3rd to the 21st of August 2010
The main speakers of the session are Augusto Silva De Faria and Douglas Estevam from MST in Brazil.
