Short description of the action:

Welcome to nobody cares Welcome to nobody cares

This event was the 11th of September 2009 in Kaunas biennal TEXTILE 09 (http://www.bienale.lt/2009/index.ph...), at Kaunas Picture gallery, Kaunas, Lithuania. Within the frame work of an other “Hemsipheres” project : “Welcome to nobody cares”, together with our partners from „Galvok žaliai“ (”Think green”) we made a few hours long workshop. During this workshop the participants got some information about the possibilities of recycling as well as reusing paper. They were able to implement their ideas while creating stuff like cards, paintings as well as nice bags out of used paper. During the whole workshop they could see a movie “Story of stuff” and discuss with the organizers of the event as well. The goal of this project is to encourage people to think about a detrimental impact on the environment caused by wasting materials and to demonstrate them that reusing stuff can be not only useful but also fun. Description - During the workshop there will be ideas of sustainable lifestyle spread and shared by realizing the waste by making the cutest thing.

Qualitative statements:

What did the participants get from the action? 25 students from the group of „Kauno buitinių paslaugų ir verslo mokykla“ (School of casual service and management); visitors of Kaunas Biennial exhibition and some people who participated in “Nobody cares” project and got interested in our project came to attend the action. Many participants were really interested in the succession of this project as well as in possibilities of implementing similar project in the future. We believe majority of the participants were really interested in the message that we spread. Not only were they actively participating in workshop activities, but also in discussions, questioning etc.

If you had to do it again, what would you change and why? First of all, the answer is we will implement another event – Eco-day at school. The strategy will be the same, maybe more detailed and planed in time. The action will be more coordinated because of experience, there will be more partners and more issues discussed.
